NBA Opening Day, Heat-Celtics Preview

Will Ray Allen’s presence spark the Celtics or will it mesh beautifully in Miami’s championship offense?

WHEN: TONIGHT at 8 PM on TNT

WHERE: Inside the American Airlines Arena, Miami, Florida.

WHAT TO EXPECT: The American Airlines Arena will be rocking tonight as the Heat host the Celtics in a Eastern Conference finals rematch. If you thought the Celtics Game 7 loss at the hands of the Heat was a dagger to the heart of the Boston faithful, Ray Allen’s departure to South Beach via free agency must have been near death for Boston fans. It isn’t the end of the world though.

Boston retooled this past summer by resigning of Kevin Garnett and the new additions of Courtney Lee and known Miami nemesis, Jason Terry. Just like that, the Celtics seem to be in contention for another Eastern Conference trip. In the other corner, Miami seems to have become even more unfair. The Heat added two top tier long range bombers in Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis. The two three point specialists go way back with their days in Seattle. Let me put it this way, If Mike Miller could do this then adding Ray Allen would be a violation of the so called “competitive balance”.

THE OUTCOME: The Heat are the clear favorites to win this tilt but do not, and I repeat DO NOT, count out the Celtics who seemingly enjoy playing as the underdogs.
