The cover of the much anticipated thirteenth instalment of the NBA 2K series was released yesterday afternoon. The cover features 3 of the league’s rising superstars including the Clippers’ Blake Griffin, Oklahoma City’s Kevin Durant, and Chicago’s very own Derrick Rose.
Griffin, who averaged 20.7 PPG and 10.9 RPG in 66 games, is coming off a great season which saw the arrival of Chris Paul push the team into the playoffs for the first time since the 2005-2006 season. The Thunder had a stellar season finishing 2nd in the west and causing destruction on their way to the finals (defeated Dallas Mavericks, Los Angeles Lakers, and the San Antonio Spurs). Durant, who finished 2nd in MVP voting, had his best season as a pro with 28.0 PPG, 8.0 RPG, and 3.5 APG. Aside from the injury that forced Chicago’s Derrick Rose to sit 27 games, he was still producing at a high rate in the games he did play. Despite the lingering health issues, Rose ended off the season with a solid 21.8 PPG, 7.9 APG, and 3.4 RPG.
NBA 2K13 is set to be released on October 2, 2012 in North America and October 5, 2012 internationally.
